If you're switching away from Omnipod or have leftover pods from a system change, you're probably wondering how much they're worth. Here's the price breakdown between DASH and Omnipod 5.
Current Resale Prices
| Product | StripValue Pays |
|---|---|
| Omnipod 5 Pod (box of 10) | Up to $90 |
| Omnipod 5 Pod (box of 5) | Up to $45 |
| Omnipod DASH Pod (box of 10) | Up to $65 |
| Omnipod DASH Pod (box of 5) | Up to $32 |
Why Omnipod 5 Pays More
- Newer technology — Omnipod 5 is the current generation with automated insulin delivery (AID) via Dexcom G6 integration
- Higher demand — More prescriptions being written for O5 as endocrinologists push patients toward AID systems
- Higher retail price — O5 pods cost more new, so the resale price reflects that
Are DASH Pods Being Discontinued?
Insulet (the maker of Omnipod) continues to support DASH, but new prescriptions increasingly go to Omnipod 5. DASH resale prices will likely decline gradually over the next 1-2 years as the market shifts. If you have DASH pods, now is a better time to sell than 12 months from now.
Important: Pods Are NOT Interchangeable
Omnipod 5 pods only work with the Omnipod 5 PDM or compatible phone app. DASH pods only work with the DASH PDM. They look similar but are NOT interchangeable — make sure you know which system you have before selling.
💡 Check the PDM (personal diabetes manager) label or your prescription for "Omnipod 5" or "Omnipod DASH." The pod boxes also have the system name on the label.
