How to Pack CGM Sensors and Diabetic Supplies for Shipping

Updated 2026

Packing your diabetic supplies correctly protects them from damage in transit and ensures you get the full quoted price. Here's exactly how to do it.

What You Need

Step-by-Step Packing

  1. Keep supplies in original packaging. Don't remove sensors from their foil pouches or strips from sealed bottles. Original packaging = full value.
  2. Wrap boxes in bubble wrap. Even though CGM sensor boxes are sturdy, a couple layers of bubble wrap prevents corner damage that can reduce value.
  3. Don't overfill the box. If supplies are shifting around inside, add crumpled packing paper to fill gaps. Shifting = impact = potential damage.
  4. Place your packing slip inside. Include a note with your name and the quote reference number (from our email) — this speeds up processing when we receive it.
  5. Seal with strong tape. Use shipping tape on all seams, not just the top. Boxes that open in transit are a problem.
  6. Attach your prepaid label. Print the label, cover the entire label with clear tape to protect from moisture, and stick it on the largest flat surface of the box.

Temperature Considerations

Most diabetic supplies (test strips, CGM sensors) are rated for temperatures up to 104°F for short periods. USPS Priority Mail typically delivers in 2–3 days, well within safe temperature ranges. Don't ship during an extreme heat wave if you're in a hot climate — request your label for a cooler time of week.
