Current buyback prices for unused CGM sensors โ and what affects your payout in 2026.
If you've switched CGM systems, changed insurance coverage, or just have leftover sensors, you may be sitting on $100โ$500+ in unused supplies. Here's how Dexcom and Libre compare in resale value โ and how to get the most from yours.
| Sensor | Condition | StripValue Pays |
|---|---|---|
| Dexcom G7 (1-pack) | Sealed, 3+ months to exp | $55โ$70 |
| Dexcom G7 (3-pack) | Sealed, 3+ months to exp | $160โ$200 |
| Dexcom G6 (3-pack) | Sealed, 3+ months to exp | $120โ$155 |
| FreeStyle Libre 3 (1-pack) | Sealed, 3+ months to exp | $45โ$60 |
| FreeStyle Libre 3 (2-pack) | Sealed, 3+ months to exp | $85โ$110 |
| FreeStyle Libre 2 (1-pack) | Sealed, 3+ months to exp | $35โ$50 |
Dexcom G7 has a higher retail price ($100โ$130/sensor at pharmacy) and is the current standard in hospital and clinical settings. This drives higher secondary market demand.
FreeStyle Libre 3 is excellent technology but prices lower at retail, which flows through to lower buyback values. Still meaningful money for unused boxes.
We require at least 3 months until expiration. 6+ months: full price. 3โ6 months: slightly reduced. Under 3 months: we can't accept it.
Sensors must be in the original sealed blister pack or box. If the box is open but sensors are sealed inside, call us โ it depends on condition.
Multi-packs pay slightly more per unit than individual sensors. If you have 10+ sensors, ask about bulk pricing.
If you have both, sell your G6s first. G6 is being phased out as the clinical standard, and its resale value will trend downward over the next 12 months as more patients upgrade to G7. G7 will hold value longer.
That said, if your G6s are 6+ months from expiration, now is still a good time โ you'll get $120โ$155 for a 3-pack versus waiting and potentially getting less.
