Can You Sell Expired Diabetic Supplies?

Updated 2026

Short answer: no — expired supplies cannot be sold through StripValue or any reputable buyer. Here's why, and what to do with them instead.

Why Expired Supplies Can't Be Sold

Expired test strips and CGM sensors may provide inaccurate readings. The enzymes and chemicals that react with glucose degrade over time. Using expired supplies can give dangerously wrong blood sugar readings, which is why no legitimate reseller buys them — it's both a liability and a patient safety issue.

The 3-Month Rule

StripValue accepts supplies with at least 3 months until expiration. We need enough shelf life to sell them before they expire. Under 3 months — even by a week — and we can't accept the shipment.

What If Your Supplies Are Close to Expiring?

If you have supplies expiring in 2–4 months, sell now. Don't wait. Once they drop under 3 months, they have no resale value. A box of Dexcom G7 sensors expiring in 4 months is worth up to $45. The same box expiring in 2 months is worth $0 to a reseller.

What to Do With Expired Supplies
